Family. The Clan (a clan includes those outside blood relatives that are within one's group.)
The pwerful importance of a group of people in your life that support, challenge and accept you can fulfill your goals. I’m blessed with blood family that I also consider my loyal friends. Of course, we’ve had our moments --- and survived them – somewhat in tack. After all there are eight children. A big Catholic (some still are) Scottish family, like in my fictional novel, The Skye in June, which has truly has been about “it took a village.”
The astonishingly good fortune of being supported (everyone is out selling, marketing and buying my book) is a wonderful journey into self–discovery.
Exposing my heart has been a scary process – scary like the evil witch frightening little children. Publicly showing my writing wasn’t so much about being an author but rather, experiencing acceptance. I am thrilled with the support from my husband, son, mother, sisters, brothers, friends and clients as well as others. It has given me a strong message --- you are worthwhile --- we can see and hear you ---- we care.
I reflect back to my days with studying Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Life, and I was introduced me to the realization that I must first love myself. Care for and accept my self. My willingness to publish and market my book is one example of how I did that. Loving myself began with awareness of how and what I thought of self and life. I wrote them daily and was surprised at how often I thought negatively. I now know that thinking badly takes up precious brain space and time that can be spent thinking lighter, more progressive thoughts.
I became a witch to recognize myself as a powerful good woman – to be wild, crazy and outspoken (as I am) and not to be submissive to unfair social and religious laws – and in my need of self-expression as an outer expression came through my tale --- I am heard and seen as a positive contribution. The outer world is matching my inner peacefulness and joyfulness. Blessed be. How do you experience loving acceptance?
