I do a candle lighting ritual on New Year’s Eve (also can be done on New Year’s Day). The ritual follows a process of releasing the passing year (see blog below) by writing lists: a thank you to my patron goddess, Juno, for the blessings received; to releas the passing year’s lost battles and disappointments; and lessons learned through these experiences. I then burn blessings first and then releasing in my cauldron. Lessons’ list is kept in my book of shadows as a reminder in the coming year.
The Candle ritual:
Preparing the candles:
* etch into the candle what your goals/wishes/plans for the New Year i.e. time/ply, good health, money, love, etc. with a with pen or sharp object like a small screw driver in picture.
* choose oil(s) to dress your candle – round and round rub the oil into the candle while thinking about what you wishes/goals – close your eyes as your hands roll around and over the candle – imaging fulfilling manifesting your goals etc.
* option - add herbs into the candle buy puncturing a hole or two on top with for instance a Phillips screwdriver then put a small amount of herbs in – or add a coin. Specific herbs are for specific wish-casting purpose. Review the web for more info.
*let your candle dry for a couple of hours. 6. Prepare yourself, bath, put on a favorite magical outfit, jewelry.
* sit in a darkened room with the candle in front of you. Envision you being happy, peaceful, abundance- whatever you are manifesting for a few minutes, pray to your Higher Power
*light the candle and let the Magic begin! Let it burn out in a fire-safe container and in the shower for overnight or if leaving unattended.
Happy New Year.
